  Claude Maurer

Claude studied Japanese culture and language in Berlin, Tokyo and Cologne. Her parents were both designers. Their influence has sharpened her eye for design and her taste beyond the mainstream from childhood onwards. Claude worked as a translator for Japanese in Cologne while raising her three children. In 2004 she moved back to Munich to work in PR and marketing at Ingo Maurer. From 2011 til 2021 she was one of the managing directors.

«My father had been in contact with manufacturers from the Japanese prefecture of Kagawa on Shikoku since the 1970s. That's probably why I've always felt especially attached to the region. During a short cycling trip through Shikoku in autumn 2006, I noticed the small mountain Iinoyama, also known as Sanuki-Fuji, for the first time. Sanuki is an old name for the region. When looking for a company name, I decided on iino because the area has a special meaning for me in many ways.»

Frank Koschembar

Graphic designer and photographer. Frank founded the advertising agency Gute Kommunikation in 1993 and focused on clients from the fields of culture, design, and light art. The resulting collaboration with designers and artists not only shaped his perception of good product design, but also the question of how design can be authentically presented and sold. From 2015, he also managed the launch of the Ingo Maurer online shop.
