iino is a new retail and design project initiated by Claude Maurer and Frank Koschembar. iino develops and sells useful inspiring everyday items for living and working spaces. iino works on two ways: retail on the one hand, development and manufacturing on the other. In reselling, we focus on things we have become aware of and appreciate. Things that are however little known and hard to find in Germany. We focus on small series that require a lot of manual work. On sustainable items. No mass-produced goods (also in terms of taste) that are selected solely because they sell well. We strive to offer things for affordable prices, and pay attention to fairness. In development and production, we follow our own ideas, which have been forming throughout our lives. We are not looking for completely unprecedented designs. Instead, we focus on usefulness and the good feeling that an object can give a person when the two are well matched. Development and production take time. Therefore, no photos of our own products will be shown on this (temporary) website. By the time the products are ready, we will certainly have launched a new website. iino is located in Cologne's Agnesviertel, one stop from the main station, and will open part of its space as a shop on 22 January 2026. From 16 January, during the design week Passagen we will be open daily between 3 and 7 p.m. «Watch us work» - visitors will find a selection of Japanese items and us working away, as goods are still arriving these days. We'll be happy to take a break and tell visitors about our plans for 2026. From Friday, January 23rd, the iino shop will be open open regularly on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and by appointment. Adress and contact: |
